Pumpkin Patch 2009

We took our first trip to the pumpkin patch with Jayni. Here are some pictures for you all to enjoy!
I will post pictures of her in her costume after Halloween.

This picture is kinda cool. My mother in law's grandma made her this pink coat when she was realy little. So probably late 1950s. Well she has a picture of herself in her new pink handmade coat standing on the bathroom counter and looking in the mirror. My MIL wanted to have duplicate picture and have Jayni in the coat and try to duplicate it. It was really cute.

Jayni's 3rd Birthday

Jayni turned 3 years old on September 24th. This was our first birthday that we got to celebrate and share with her. I have always wanted to have my little girl be a dancer and when Jayni came to live with us I knew that this little girl was a dancer. The age requirements state that the child must be at least 3 years old. So I enrolled her in dance and she begins class this Thursday. Here are some pictures of Jayni on her birthday and at her birthday party which took place on 9/26.
Enjoy!

Adoption Day

It has been a really long time since I have updated anything. It seems like after our adoption day our lives have been moving at one pace, fast.

Our adoption was finalized on August 21st at 11 AM. We were the first group that got called in, which was a blessing. I was already losing it in the lobby. My family and my friend Allison came to see it all come together. Here are some pictures of Jayni on her super special day.

Jayni reading her Dora book on the way to court.

Jayni's first motorcycle ride. Foster kids can't ride motorcycles so after court we took her home and put her on.

The evening of our adoption day we had a party for Jayni.
I want to thank everyone for taking part of our experience and for showing your love and support! There will most likely be another adoption, but right now we are just enjoying her as our very own.

Official Court Date

Our official court date is August 21st. Our lawyer won't be in the office on the 14th therefore cannot be in court with us on the 14th. But I figure that it is better this way so I can plan the party better.

Pray that this goes quickly! Thank you all who have followed my blog and who've shared in our crazy adventure!

Music To My Ears

A court date?!?!

WHAT?!?!?!?!

So we are pretty sure that our court date to finalize our adoption is August 14th.

So I had invitations made out for our adoption party. Wish I could somehow post my creation on here. But at the top is a picture of our beautiful Jayni girl.
Under the picture says

Innocent, Perfect and sweet as can be
An angel from above, a darling little girl for us to love...Blessed are we!

Adoption Update

Ok, so I promised that I would keep you all updated on the progress of the adoption of our daughter. So I have known for a while now that the case has been transferred to an adoption social worker. Let’s just say it is intense when you have to deal with the amount of paperwork to get this ready. Almost like labor? In any case our new case worker came over last night to deliver a copy of her (Jayni) case file and let’s just whoa mama I had no idea it was that big. The man could almost not lift the box on his own. Anyway there is still more paperwork to do which I’m turning in on Monday morning. I retained our lawyer to complete the legal side of things and they think they can have us a court date to make it final at the end of July. So that means that I will finally be able to call her MINE. ALL MINE!
So that is all I know now but will keep you posted. Her new name as of right now is going to be Jayni Alison Ann Montgomery. Alison is my mom's middle name and Ann is David's mom's middle name. She currently has 2 middle names so I thought I'd stick with 2. I like her first name find but we considered changing it but she knows her name. If you ask her what her name is she will tell you. Instead of saying "I" she says Jayni. So instead of saying I want to eat. She'll say Jayni eat too. LOL gosh this girl cracks me up! I love her dearly beyond words and cannot wait until it finalized!

Adoption Update

You asked so here it is.

Jayni is not adopted yet. The last of the steps is David has to get a physical from a doctor and our social worker has to transfer the case onto the adoption department. So we do not have a court date or anything as of yet, but our social worker says it should be done this summer. Translation for me means this fall. Everything in the foster care system takes a lot longer than necessary.

So some cute things that Jayni has done lately. Rather than saying I want she has started saying I need. I need to hold you. I need milk. I need tales (as in veggietales) I need to eat, etc. Over the weekend we went to Portland and took her to the zoo and then we went to the aquarium in Newport, OR. One of the moments that made me misty eyed was when we were looking at the sea lions. Jayni laid on the floor by the window and he swam up to her, she lifted her head and I got a picture of them looking at each other. Then she stood up and he kept swimming towards her and he would slide his body along the glass as he went upward, then he would come back and do it over again. She held her hand along the glass when he came back. It was like these 2 were having a moment of aww. there were tons of other people there but he focused on Jayni. It was amazing and I cried cause I could see how excited she was and I was so happy we were able to give her the opportunity to have that moment.
In our hotel we had an indoor pool and we took her swimming. I had taken her swimming a few times prior but they closed our local indoor pool. This time I got her some arm floaties and she whined and cried whenever it was time to get out of the pool. She even got brave enough to start swimming by herself and she would giggle as she would get away from us.
Sunday morning we woke up and she pointed to my upper lip, you know the dip everyone has from their nose to their upper lip? Well she informed me that that is an owie. She asked me "what happened? Did nana hurt you?" I laughed and said no. Then she said "a puppy?" We laughed so hard. It truly is like living with a little comedian cause we laugh all the time.

So that is all we know as of now. We just continue to enjoy each day that we do have her and wait until we get news that something is happening.

Thank all for wanting updates. Means a lot!
